While we aren’t yet at total marriage victory, and right-wingers are vowing to renew the fight against equality, this is such an overwhelming step. The climate is already so different. If six or seven years ago, it seemed like this would ever happen, or if there had been such vocal and visible support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgendered people, I would have slept better at night knowing I didn’t have to doubt myself. I was not less-than. I am thrilled for all of the LGBT folks in America younger than me that their world is already so accepting. There’s a long way to go, but I am so, so happy that change is coming.

Have a beautiful weekend–join me at Pride in Chicago on Sunday? xx
