First-generation Icelandic and American, Alyssa grew up in the Midwest in a family who loved adventure, books, and animals. She studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City and at Columbia College Chicago, and has continued her training in studios across Chicago and in LA. In her work, she especially loves sharp dialogue, LGBTQ+ stories, emotionally raw narratives, and women-driven media.
She wrote her debut screenplay, After (A Love Story), which she also produced and starred in, that filmed in summer of 2021. It was an official selection at 21 festivals, including the Academy-Award qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival and LA Shorts International, and won the 2022 Best Drama Short award at North Hollywood Cinefest and the Sherman Oaks Film Festival.
Alyssa continues to work in commercials and film while writing a feature thriller and auditioning.
